EP02: Umzumbi

We climbed down a bank to the middle of a large dry riverbed named Umzumbi and set up recorders in the darkness to listen and record the birds dawn chorus. The sand was still a little damp and William told me to keep an eye out for snakes in the grass behind us. I went and sat in the clearing in the middle of the riverbed and listened to the birds and baboons on both sides as the sun started to rise.
