In listening to ourselves we examine different ways in which the act of listening can be guided to enhance and develop self awareness and the awareness of others, and become a thread that binds core selfhoods between individuals.

 

SOUND BATHS provides weekly sessions of live gong and bowl playing sessions inspired by the basic body and earth elements. QUINTEPHONICS goes inside the brain for a series of workshops that turn brain waves to sound. UTTERINGS which encourages participants for pre-lingual communication.

In this workshop we will explore telematic improvisation. Working with sound, visuals, voice, instrumentation and movement. the idea is to develop your personal skill while affecting and being affected by a collective activity. engaging with all senses in a meaningful compositional exchange.

Participants will work together to share their sound-spaces, sound-objects that have meaning to us, and then improvise with them together in digital space. The intention is to create micro-communities: part imagined, part real, from our collaborative listening and sound making.

SONOMATECA - A body listening practice

ARTUR VIDAL and KARINA SCHERBAKOVA

Starting from previous research involving the activation via somatic practice of the whole body as a listening tool, this new Sonomateca series prolongs this journey by including clothing into the definition of what the body is. In these new episodes we will develop a Deep Listening practice to find out how sound resonates in that space in between our skin and our clothing and how the body, augmented by this artificial skin, senses the world.

QUINTEPHONICS: Brain Music

In this immersive workshop you will learn about the long history of neurofeedback in the arts and obtain the knowledge and tools needed to begin creating sounds with your own brainwaves. You’ll develop a more informed understanding of the 5 brainwaves and how each one can alter how we feel.

Join musician, sound therapist and practitioner AHRKH, as we welcome him back to lead participants on sonic explorations, through the medium of sound bath, a full body listening experience that intentionally uses sounds from gongs and bowls to invite a gentle restorative and rejuvenating response for the mind, body and spirit.
