CODING MUSIC
Ages 7+
Make music through code! Learn to use Scratch for fun musicals projects, and even play the drums using your webcam. Scratch is the perfect way to learn the basics of programming, and make music at the same time.
PLAYING WITH GRAPHIC SCORES
Ages 7+
Turn sound into drawings and design your own custom musical notation. We’ll create beautiful drawings as a way of making music and make music with pens and pencils. No experience required, just some pens, pencils and paper.
MUSIC FOR VIDEO GAMES
Ages 9+
Experiment with adding your own sounds and music to video games. You’ll take a blank video game and add sound effects to turn it into a horror, comedy or sci-fi adventure! This workshop is best attended on a laptop computer.
MAKING MUSIC ONLINE
Ages 9+
Making music online is easier than ever, and here’s where you can get started. Discover amazing free websites which allow you to make and share your music with no experience required! Having a laptop computer is recommended.
FRAZER MERRICK uses field recordings, circuit bending and synthesis to create carnivalesque experiences which explore the act of play. Using lo-fi technologies he transforms a space or object, encouraging the audience to become a curious performer and embrace play through interactivity, improvisation and collaboration.
His work materialises as playful interactive sculptures, transportive soundscapes and empowering educational projects.
